Murrine Owara

Inspired by Owara Kaze no Bon, the centuries-old dance festival in Toyama, Japan, where Scott Darlington lived and worked. After dark, dancers in low straw hats move quietly through the streets by the glow of paper lanterns. This 26-inch glass sculpture is decorated with gold leaf and murrine made by Jimmy Anderegg.

Paper Lanterns (Chochin)

Glass lanterns inspired by the Japanese chochin paper lantern, hand-blown by Scott Darlington at the furnace using the Graal technique. Each one is made by hand, so every lantern is slightly different. Many different graphics can be custom made. These say: Yakiniku (grilled meat), Hi no Yojin (be careful of fire), and Toyama (my Japanese home). - Every piece is packed in double-boxed, padded packaging and insured.
- Small pieces ship within 3-5 business days, to the US and worldwide.
- Large and high-value pieces (the $2,000+ group) ship by arrangement with insured, custom crating. Contact me for a quote, or arrange local pickup in Seattle.
- Care: dust with a soft dry cloth, and wash by hand with mild soap when needed.
